This project involved the demolition and replacement of factory flooring within Midfield’s Penola processing facility, undertaken within an active operational environment where production activities continued throughout the works.
Our scope included the saw cutting, demolition, removal, and disposal of existing concrete pavement, followed by subgrade preparation and construction of new reinforced concrete flooring. Works included formwork installation, reinforcement fixing, and concrete placement to deliver durable industrial pavement designed to meet the operational requirements of the facility.
Additional concrete works comprised the construction of hob walls and the provision of slab penetrations to accommodate existing and future utilities and services. Careful planning and coordination ensured all penetrations and interfaces aligned with operational and service requirements.
The project was undertaken within confined work areas adjacent to live factory operations, requiring detailed staging, close communication with the client, and coordination with facility personnel to minimise disruption to ongoing production activities. A strong focus was placed on safety management, particularly during demolition activities and the operation of plant and equipment within the building.
All works were completed in accordance with project specifications, quality assurance procedures, and stringent safety requirements. The successful delivery of the project provided upgraded industrial flooring and infrastructure while maintaining uninterrupted operations within the facility.
