The broader project involved the construction of three (3) box culvert regulators within the Millewa Forest to support environmental water delivery and floodplain management outcomes within the Murray–Darling Basin. Kelly Civil Construction's scope included the supply and installation of formwork, placement of reinforcement, and concrete pouring activities associated with the project's in-situ structural concrete elements. These works comprised reinforced concrete base slabs incorporating cut-off walls, structural walls and piers, capping beams, and apron slabs integrated with the precast box culvert structures.

Kelly Civil Construction was engaged by Northern Construction Group to deliver Formwork, Reinforcement and Pour (FRP) works for the Little Barbers Offtake and Merangatuk Culvert project as part of the NSW Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism (SDLAM) Program of Works.
The broader project involved the construction of one box culvert regulator and one box culvert occupational crossing to support critical water management infrastructure within the Murray–Darling Basin. Kelly Civil Construction's scope included the supply and installation of formwork, placement of reinforcement, and concrete pouring activities associated with the in-situ structural concrete elements of the project, including base slabs, cut-off walls and apron slabs.

This project involved the construction of three occupational road crossings over Barwon Water supply channels, providing durable roadways while maintaining the integrity and operation of the water supply network for Wurdee Boluc Reservoir. Designed for long service lives and minimal maintenance, the crossings were constructed as culvert-style structures founded on reinforced concrete slabs cast within the channel floors.
Kelly Civil Construction’s scope comprised all formwork, reinforcement fixing, and concrete placement activities associated with the construction of the crossing structures. The project required close collaboration with civil contractors responsible for excavation and culvert installation to ensure excavation dimensions, levels, and subgrade conditions met the required design tolerances for the slab foundations.
Construction commenced with the placement of concrete blinding layers to provide level, clean, and structurally sound working platforms for the construction of the reinforced base slabs. Kelly Civil Construction then completed all formwork, steel fixing, and concrete pours for the structural slabs and associated concrete elements.
Our team also assisted with the lifting, placement, and securing of precast culvert sections, headwalls, and wing walls, ensuring accurate alignment and integration of the structures. Following installation, all grouting and waterproofing works were completed by our work crews to provide long-term durability and protect the structures from water ingress and deterioration.
Additional erosion control measures included the application of shotcrete to selected sections of the canal batter. These works assisted in directing water flow and reducing erosion of the natural clay channel walls, improving the long-term stability of the waterway infrastructure.

As of June 2026, Kelly Civil Construction is currently delivering civil and concrete works for the construction of a new Hungry Jack’s restaurant in Colac, Victoria, on behalf of College Construction. The project involves the redevelopment of an existing site and the delivery of key civil, environmental, and structural elements required for the new restaurant and associated infrastructure.
The initial stage of works involved bulk earthworks, including site excavation and the removal of contaminated and unsuitable soils to prepare the site for construction. Kelly Civil Construction also assisted in the removal of underground fuel tanks, ensuring works were undertaken safely and in a manner that minimised the spread of contaminants within the soil profile and surrounding environment.
Following remediation activities, suitable engineered fill was imported, placed, and compacted to project specifications to achieve the required subgrade conditions for future construction. All compaction requirements were verified to ensure compliance with project and engineering standards.
The project’s structural concrete works included excavation for the main restaurant raft slab, incorporating both internal and external beams. Kelly Civil Construction completed the formwork, reinforcement fixing, and concrete placement for the slab, delivering the structural foundation for the new facility. Close coordination with local plumbers, electricians, and other trades was maintained throughout construction to ensure efficient sequencing of works and support project timelines.
Subsequent works included the removal of two existing driveways and the reinstatement of kerb and channel to match existing profiles and ensure seamless integration with surrounding infrastructure.
Future stages of the project will involve the reinstatement of the pedestrian footpath, as well as the construction of heavy-duty concrete pavements surrounding the restaurant, including the drive-through lane and vehicle parking areas.

This project involved the construction of heavy-duty concrete pavements for McColl’s Transport at its Colac depot, delivering durable infrastructure designed to accommodate frequent heavy vehicle movements and operational demands within an active transport facility.
Kelly Civil Construction undertook the civil and concrete works associated with the project, including site preparation, earthworks, drainage installation, and pavement construction. Works were carried out both within an existing depot shed and at the property entrance, where a new heavy-duty turning driveway was constructed to improve vehicle access.
A key component of the project was the installation of a heavy-duty grated U-drain within the shed to provide effective drainage and manage surface water generated by depot operations. The drainage system was carefully set out and installed to ensure compatibility with the finished pavement levels and ongoing site requirements.
Concrete works included formwork installation and concrete placement to construct robust industrial pavements capable of withstanding heavy vehicle loading and repetitive traffic movements. This project involved the construction of a new heavy-duty truck turning lane for the Midfield Group in Warrnambool, delivered in cooperation with the local council to improve access and manoeuvrability for livestock road trains servicing the facility. Constructed adjacent to Scott Street, the new pavement was designed to accommodate frequent heavy vehicle movements and improve traffic safety and operational efficiency.
The works were undertaken within the road reserve and required careful planning and stakeholder coordination to ensure compliance with council requirements and minimise disruption to road users and surrounding infrastructure. Environmental considerations formed an important component of the project, including the careful removal and management of existing trees to facilitate the construction works.
Kelly Civil Construction completed or oversaw all aspects of the project, including excavation, removal and carting of unsuitable material and waste fill, subgrade preparation, and pavement construction. Prior to the pavement works, a 100-metre-long concrete spoon drain was constructed adjoining the new turning lane and the existing bitumen pavement of Scott Street to provide effective surface water management and improve drainage performance.
Concrete pavement construction included formwork installation, construction joint placement, and concrete pouring to deliver a durable heavy-duty pavement suitable for livestock road train operations. The pavement was constructed using a steel fibre-reinforced concrete mix, eliminating the requirement for conventional reinforcing steel while maintaining the structural performance required for heavy vehicle loading.

This project involved the demolition and replacement of factory flooring within Midfield’s Penola processing facility, undertaken within an active operational environment where production activities continued throughout the works.
Our scope included the saw cutting, demolition, removal, and disposal of existing concrete pavement, followed by subgrade preparation and construction of new reinforced concrete flooring. This project involved the resurfacing and rehabilitation of sections of Mitchell Road within the Grampians region, including the replacement of multiple ford crossing slabs across existing waterways to improve road safety, durability, and all-weather accessibility.
Our scope of works encompassed all associated civil construction activities required to deliver the road and drainage upgrades. Roadworks included grading and reshaping of the existing road formation, placement of geofabric separation layers, importation and spreading of new gravel pavement material, and compaction to achieve the required pavement profile and performance. Road shoulders were battered and trimmed to design levels to improve drainage outcomes and long-term road stability.
The project also included the supply and installation of road signage and implementation of traffic management measures in accordance with relevant road authority standards.
Ford crossing upgrades involved excavation and preparation of stream crossings, formwork installation, reinforcement fixing, structural steel placement, and the pouring and finishing of reinforced concrete ford slabs.
